These pencils are the first oil-based pencils from Derwent. These pencils have been formulated to be 100% lightfast. The firmness of the lead is a good balance between softness and hardness. It can make a fine point without breaking immediately, while retaining some of the softness of a soft, creamy pencil. The revolutionary core is resistant to prolonged color changes, ensuring that artwork won't fade for 100 years in museum conditions.
The pencils themselves have an elegant look with a bare, varnished wood. The neutral tone allows the colored tips to stand out, making it easy to quickly spot colors while working.
