Although I recently entered the wonderful world of pastels, I have had a chance to try a few brands already. At this point, my go to is Rembrandts. Some artists will say that they are not soft enough. Personally, I think they are just right. You can use them on sanded surfaces, they will layer well and are pigment rich enough to produce excellent results. The best thing is that they are available in singles AND they are still reasonably priced. I feel that they are one of the soft pastels that offers the best value on the market.
